Story:

Jai (Pawan Kalyan) is a loyal follower of Bhagavan (Jackie Shroff), who is a big don in Kolkata. Kulakarni (Atul Kulakarni) is the rival of Bhagavan. Jai has a friend named Jahnavi (Anjali Lavania) who is a club dancer. Bhagavan’s sadistic son Munna (Adivi Seshu) has an eye on her. Meanwhile Jai falls in love with Sandhya (Sarah Jane). Munna kills Jahnavi as she rejects him. Then Jai kills him in turn. Now Jai becomes the prime target for Bhagavan. What happens next is to be seen on the screen.

Performances:

Pawan Kalyan carried of the whole film on his capable shoulders. His screen presence works like wonders. Pawan Kalyan looked handsome in his distinct rugged look which is apt for the role. He gave his 100% for the role entertaining the audiences with his action, dance, comedy and romance.

Sarah Jane Dias, the former Miss India lacks good looks but she carried of the role in an impressive way.  The modern look suited her best than the traditional half saree look.Anjali Lavania looked hot and she delivered her best with scintillating moves in the item number Veyyi ra.. However, she has a very limited role.

Adivi Sesh is a revelation. He is mind blowing in his negative role, Brahmanandam is good, Ali , Jackie Shroff and Atul Kulkarni were fine, Jhansi, Subbaraju Thanikella Bharani did their bit as required.

Analysis:

Panjaa has a known yet interesting storyline and the presentation was stylish with each frame looking
Exclent. The production teams must be appreciated for coming together to make such a stylish film with considerable care. While the story is not new, the narration is appreciable. Director Vishnu Vardhan showed his brilliance in few scenes. He excelled in getting the action part right. There are many plot holes and loose ends in the film. As a script writer Vishnu showed some hurriedness and failed to make it a rounded script. Writer in him has let down the director. Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music is Exclent.

Verdict :

Pawan Kalyan satisfies his audiences with an appreciable screen presence, performance, and stunts. The film has shades of Pawan Kalyan’s Balu (2005) but this one is stylish.
